Empowering Girls to Dream Big & Think Boldly
As part of the 8th annual Diamonds in the Rough Summer Camp (July 20–26, 2025), this special workshop is designed to ignite ambition, spark connection, and offer real-world insight into the future careers our Diamonds dream of pursuing.
Girls ages 10–18 will get an up-close look at what’s possible through meaningful conversations with diverse mentors who are walking the walk in industries ranging from STEM and the arts to business, construction, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
What to Expect
Career Panel + Q&A | 30–45 Minutes
A powerhouse panel of professionals will share their journeys, obstacles, wins, and advice for navigating the world of work with purpose and confidence. This interactive session will allow Diamonds to ask questions, learn about career paths they may not have considered, and walk away with real-life wisdom.
Speed Mentoring Sessions | 30 Minutes
After the panel, Diamonds will participate in a round-robin of 1-on-1 or small-group conversations with mentors aligned with their interests. These short but impactful mentoring moments are designed to offer tailored encouragement, career insight, and connection.
Catered Luncheon
Following the mentoring rounds, all attendees will gather for a relaxed meal where conversations can continue and connections can deepen.
Featured Mentor: Shaunte Allen, Founder of Allen Learnimy
Shaunte Allen—educator, innovator, and founder of Allen Learnimy—will be joining the panel to speak about her nontraditional path to success, the power of lifelong learning, and her newest initiative: launching a Construction Apprenticeship Program that opens doors to high-wage, hands-on careers for young people.
With multiple startups under her belt, Shaunte’s current business is finally scaling toward real, measurable success—and she’s passionate about showing the next generation what resilience and belief in your own vision can achieve.
BONUS: Shaunte will be raffling off a signed copy of her book, Beyond the Degree, which encourages readers to explore careers and skills beyond the traditional four-year college track.
